Home, Community, Neighborhood, and Family. These themes resonate strongly with many of us, and are central to our lives. Having a welcoming place to call home that is a sanctuary from the frantic pace of modern life is a high priority.

These themes are largely absent in most new medium density housing developments in Anchorage, where the formula has been to maximize the number of units built with little regard for design, community, or the fostering of a true neighborhood.  

The goal of the Hollybrook Terrace Community is to be an example of what a well-designed and well-built community would look like in Anchorage, while still being affordable and centrally located. We set out to create a neighborhood on a human-scale, one that “feels like home,” and a place where we would want to live.

Keeping these principles in mind, we chose a site plan and architectural style that is traditionally classic, yet elegantly contemporary.   Our streets are constructed for lower speed with on street parking for guests, and garages are tucked away so as to not be the focal point of the buildings.  Landscaping, green-space and amenities such as front porches and street lighting have been thoughtfully designed to contribute to the community centered atmosphere.  Located in Independence Park, Hollybrook Terrace is a neighborhood within a neighborhood, and our site is linked to a network of sidewalks, bike paths and streets suitable for pedestrians, and public transportation is readily accessible.

The design team and developer of Hollybrook Terrace drew inspiration for this project from this vision of community.  Other projects in Anchorage and the Pacific Northwest were viewed and the best elements of those projects were incorporated into our design.  Hollybrook Terrace enjoys easy access to the Seward Highway and is in a convenient south Anchorage location, near shopping, entertainment, restaurants, employment centers and good schools.
